Detailed itinerary for 8 Days Bhutan Experience Tour

Fly into Paro with Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines, the country's only two airlines at the moment. If the weather cooperates, you will be able to see stunning views of the eastern Himalayan hills, including Chomolhari, Jichu Drakye, and Tsering Kang in Bhutan. We travel to our hotel after completing visa formalities at the Paro airport.

The trek will be a slow descent before we reach Pangrithang, which will take us about an hour and will be reached by the water, after which there will be some steep climbing through bushes for two hours, after which a clear view will open up and we will reach Janetsho (Lake) ( 3956 m). Yak herders are normally the ones that live there. We'll scale a gentle slope for another hour before arriving at our campsite, which will take another two hours.

The trail is fine, but there are a couple of minor climbs to small passes before you see Phajoding monastery and Thimphu. We would enter the highest pass, which is at an altitude of 4420m, after a nearly 2-hour hike. The last section of the journey, steep descent to Phajoding monastery, has a clear view. The trails begin here with a steep descent through dense forest for another 2-3 hours before we reach the motor path. Drive down to Thimphu, going by the Thimphu Zoo, where you can see some Takins (Bhutan's national animal). After that, tell your goodbyes to the trekking squad and head to the hotel. Thimphu is where you can spend the night.

The nunnery shrine, the National Library (which contains ancient manuscripts), and the School of Arts and Crafts can all be visited from there (also known as the painting school). You'll tour the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, a traditional paper factory, the glorious Tashichodzong, and Semtokha Dzong after a soothing lunch (the oldest fortress in the kingdom).
