As Upper mustang is restricted area for general visitors, you need to grab a special permit to enter the Upper Mustang region. Following are some of the checklist for Lo-Manthang Upper Mustang Permit:
- Passport must be valid for at least six months.
- Original passport and current visa are required when applying for the permits.
- Cost is $500 per person for 10 days, additional $50 per person, per day beyond 10 days.
- Scanned copy of the passport-sized photograph is must
- One printed passport-sized photograph is required for ACAP permit (costs $20 per person).
- At least two trekkers in the group.
- The permit must be obtained through, and trekkers must go with, a Nepal registered trekking company.
