The Classical Everest Base Camp Trekking is a perfect combination of nature, culture and adventure, and the trail provides a classic trekking experience in the Himalayas offering enchanting sights of the Lukla trail in the higher Khumbu. The Classic EBC Trekking route was followed by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa in 1953 to conquer the summit of Mt. Everest. The trekking route is quite strenuous than Everest Base Camp trek with a series of ascents and descents.

The Classic Everest Base Camp Trek follows a conventional route through the Jiri. Classic EBC Trek starts after a seven to eight hours drive from Kathmandu to Jiri. We pass through the beautiful pastures, farmlands, panoramic landscapes of the Himalayas, the stunning waterfalls, rhododendron forests. On reaching the Everest Base Camp, we hike to Kalapattar, we will enjoy the majestic views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Thamserku, etc.

Detailed itinerary for 22 Days Classic Everest Base Camp Trek

After arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), you will be welcomed by our staff and transfer to the hotel. Our airport representative will explain the program upon arrival. Overnight at hotel

Today we we explore the World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. We will explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Pasupatinath Temple. Overnight Hotel

Today we will start our journey of Classic EBCTrek. Early in the morning. We leave Kathmandu for our long trek to Everest. We drive to Jiri by a private vehicle passing through the beautiful countryside.

Today after breakfast we start our trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar

Walking Distance: 7.4km/4.6 miles

Duration: 6 hours

We start with a steep one-hour climb to the Syangboche (3790m), from where we will slowly ascend towards Khunde. From Khunde, we follow the trail eastwards to Khumjung, at the foot of the sacred peak Khumbila. After enjoying lunch at Khumjung, we gradually climb to Everest View Hotel where we will enjoy the splendid mountain views. Then we descend towards Namche (3540m).

Today after breakfast we start our trek from Namche to Tengboche.

Today we will start our journey downhill through a forest, cross the Imja Khola and climb steadily to the village of Pangboche. Pangboche village lies directly opposite to Mt. Ama Dablam [6,856 m], and has exceptional views of the mountain, with the Gompa, mani walls and scattered pine trees in the foreground. We walk further up to DingbochePheriche where we will spend our night tonight.

Duration: 5 Hours

Today after breakfast, we start our hike to Nagerjun, Nagerjun is a beautiful place that offers panoramic views of nature and the mountains. We spend our day exploring the surroundings of Nagerjun and return back to Dingboche today.

Accommodation: Overnight at Dingboche.

After morning breakfast will start our trekking journey to Lobuche. It takes about 5 hours to reach Lobuche.

Duration: 5 Hours

After a 2 Hours hike up, we reach to Gorakshep. The first part of the hike is nice and easy but one hour later the trail starts to get harder, once we climb about 150m the trail gets better again. Shortly after we will get to the moraine. Finally, we get to 5160m, the world’s highest settlement at Gorakshep. Once we have lunch, we begin our walk to Everest base camp. We will be walking on a side ridge of the Khumbu glacier. After walking on the ridge for about one and half hours, we cross the Glacier and into the Everest base camp area. Today we reach Everest base camp at an altitude of 5360m. We will be able to meet and talk to other mountain climbers at the base camp. We can get a good view of the Khumbu glacier and Khumbu Icefall. From there we can also see the big crevasses in a climbing way. After appreciating our own efforts and photographing the achievements, we start our way back to Gorakshep. (6-7 hour)

Duration: 5 Hours

We will start an early morning hike to Kalapathar. Kalapathar is located at an altitude of 5545m/18188ft and is the viewpoint of the majestic Himalayas. We spend some time enjoying the sunrise on the splendid Himalayan ranges, relishing in a unique view and experience and head back to Pheriche via Gorekshep.

Accommodation: Overnight at Gorakshep.

Max Altitude: 5364m/17594ft (Everest Base Camp)

Duration: 7 Hours

After the majestic views of Mt. Everest and Kalapathar, we will now retrace our steps back to Namche via Pheriche. The walking duration is about 6 hours. We will accommodate tonight at Hotel in Namche village with full board meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). We chill out today here with some beers and enjoy some relevant comfort.

Today is our last day to spend these lovely mountains. We backtrack our hike towards Lukla via the Dudh Koshi River which takes about 7 hours from Namche.

Duration: 7 Hours

Today we fly back from Lukla to Kathmandu. Free day at Kathmandu. After we transfer you to the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at your choice; feel free to relax or explore the local markets.

As today is your last day in Kathmandu, we will be offering you a Farewell Dinner followed by Nepali Cuisine Food and Cultural Dance.
