Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the popular, short and easy treks which is suitable for first-timers. Surrounded by the wonders of nature and dense Rhododendron forest, this trail is a beautiful trail that lies in the Lower Annapurna Region, suitable for a family getaway. It’s a perfect opportunity to be caught in the admiration of nature and the variety of flora and fauna.
This low altitude trail has distinguished snow-capped Himalayas scenery, diversity in surroundings, and traditional villages. It's a great trip for the travelers to get some experience in trekking and explore the major parts of Kathmandu city.
At the elevation of 2,874m, Ghorepani village is situated in northern-central Nepal in Myagdi District in Dhaulagiri Zone within Annapurna Conservation Area. There are many guest houses and lodges for travelers and trekkers that visit the Annapurna Region. The key destination of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the viewpoint at Poon Hill (3,210m). Travelers here love the sight of the beautiful sunset in unison with nature which puts them at ease.
We will also go to Ulleri, having 3000 step stones which is one of the world’s largest stone steps. Witness the serene beauty of the gracious mountains like Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Mt. Gangapurna (7455m), Mount Manaslu(8156m), Mt Dhaulagiri(8167m) and other peaks. From there, we will also go to Ghandruk, a Gurung village where we visit Gurung Museum. The Museum features the bravery of the Gorkha Soldiers.
The best season to plan Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the Pre Monsoon season ( March-May). At this time, the dense Rhododendron forest looks even more beautiful and magical with the gorgeous Rhododendrons adding color to its serene beauty. The other season is Post Monsoon( September to November). During this time, you will get to see the arcane sights from the top of the viewpoint at its sumptuous glory. Both seasons have their own beauty to showcase for the travelers.
The climate in the Lower Annapurna region is mostly windy and chilly so it's good you pack some warm clothes too.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) Via Ghorepani Poonhill
Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345meters) and you will be met by our airport representative from Paradise Himalayan Journey and transferred to the hotel. You can either rest in the Hotel or roam around Thamel in the evening.

Accommodation: Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
After early breakfast at the hotel, we drive along the Trisuli and Mashyangdi River all the way to Pokhara. You will be able to spot the beautiful river view and the view of Mt. Ganesh Himal and Mt. Manaslu, Pokhara, famous tourist's paradise also popular as the city of Lakes, is popular for its natural heritage, nature trail, cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. After 6 hours of drive; we will arrive in Pokhara.
After breakfast in Hotel in Pokhara, we take short drive to Nayapul. Reaching Nayapul, we then start our trekking journey to Tikhedhunga (1577M) via Birethanti (1065m.). This is preety easy trekking passing through beautiful villages. Reaching Tikhedhunga(1577m), we transfer to hotel, freshen up and rest
After early morning breakfast at the lodge, we start trek; for first 2 hours we ascend steeply then ascend gently passing through Ulleri (2070m.) and Banthanti, We will spot the beautiful views of Mt. Machhapuchhare(Fish Tail) (6997m.), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m.), and Mt. Annapurna (7219m). Now, the trail is quite easier than before passing through the dense forest of rhododendron and shadowy trees. After reaching final camp, we transfer to the Hotel, take rest and have dinner.
Today we will have early-morning excursion/hike to Poon Hill (3210m), to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Mt. Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Mt. Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Mt. Annapurna IV (7525m.), Mt. Annapurna II (7937m.), Lamjung Himal (6931m.) and other famous snowcapped mountains, Poon Hill is one of the best himalayan viewpoints in Nepal, offering an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the high Himalayas. Then we hike down to Ghorepani, enjoy the hot and tasty breakfast at Lodge and trek to Tadapani (2650 m.).
Today we trek to Ghandruk(1950m.), Ghandruk a mountain village inhabited by Gurungs in majority sets in the Modi Khola Valley at around 2,000 meters.Ghandruk is most popular for typical Gurung Homestay and cultural programs. Handicraft center and Gurung museum is the major spotted attraction of Ghundruk. You will able to see the views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.
We drive back to Pokhara which takes about 1.5 hours.
Today we trace back to Kathmandu, we reach Kathmandu in about 6-7 hours. If you want to explore the Thamel and Kathmandu Durbar Square in evening, you can. As today is your last day at Kathmandu with us, we will have Farewell Dinner together at Thamel.
