After a pleasant night at Nagarkot, you get up early in the morning and relish the panorama of the Himalayas. Today we wake up early and reach the Nagarkot Tower for a beautiful sunrise. After breakfast, we begin the downward hike to Changu Narayan The hike resumes in a similar fashion and descends slightly. During the hike, we enjoy the local lifestyle passing through few villages on the way. Upon reaching Changunarayan Temple, we start exploring the temple premise and enjoy the view of the entire heritage.

Detailed itinerary for 2 Days Sankhu Nagarkot Changunarayan Hiking

Day 01 : Drive from Kathmandu to Sankhu & hike to Nagarkot (1 hr. drive & 3 hrs. walk)

After breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, we drive to Sankhu. Its just an hour of Drive to Sankhu. Sankhu is a Newar-dominated village and is one of the popular pilgrimage sites for all Hindus. This place has a huge historical and religious importance. The temple of Vajrayogini carries a huge religious value.

We begin our hike from Sankhu and travel through beautiful hills to Nagarkot. At 2100 meters, Nagarkot is a prominent hill station. It is unquestionably where your Nagarkot Changunarayan day hike begins, with the great Himalayan vista of gleaming snowy peaks.

Day 02 : Hike to Changunarayan and drive back to Kathmandu (3 hrs. hike & 1 hr. drive)

The stunning sunrise view over the Himalayas is the highlight of today's early morning. We begin our second-day hike to the Changunarayan temple complex after breakfast. Changunarayan Temple is one of Nepal's oldest temple architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Changunarayan represents the living style of the 5th century of Nepal and it is believed that the written history of Nepal can be seen on a stone inscription in the Changunarayan Temple.

After lunch at Changunarayan, we drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the historically, artistically important with a majestic masterpiece of Malla architectures of the 16th century. We explore the Bhaktapur Durbar Square area and try some local foods like Bara, Chatamari.

Drive back to Kathmandu after exploring the Bhaktapur and transfer to the hotel
