Gokyo Lake is blue fresh water lakes in the Everest region of Nepal. Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri is popular destination among the travelers. This is one of the lake situated at highest altitude at around 5,000 meters. Gokyo Lakes is located at an altitude of 4,700–5,000 m (15,400–16,400 ft) above sea level. There are about six major lakes in the Everest region, which are among the highest freshwater lakes in the world. Among all the lakes in the Everest region, Thonak Lake is the largest of these lakes.
Best Season for Gokyo Lake Everest base camp Trek
Like other treks in Nepal, Gokyo Lake EBC Trek is most preferably comfort during Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November). During these months, the weather remains to be clear, and daytime temperatures remains warm. However this trek is usually possible to trek during the summer/monsoon and winter seasons.
